LORAIN, Ohio -- An Ohio city's law director has quit after being sent back to jail for drinking following three months behind bars for drunken driving.
Lorain's legal chief Mark Provenza signed his resignation letter Tuesday in the Lakewood jail just west of Cleveland.
The 52-year-old had been released Sunday after serving 90 days of a 12-month sentence for drunken driving. On Monday, a judge ordered Provenza back to jail after he admitted he had been drinking in violation of his probation.
Provenza could be ordered to serve the remaining nine months of his sentence. The drunken-driving charge was his third since 2001.
