COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police said they have arrested a suspect in connection with a double shooting on Tuesday evening.
The shooting occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, when, police said, Thomas L. Smith entered an apartment on Shanley Drive and became involved in an argument with a resident and his brother.
During the argument, police said, shots were fired and 21-year-old Douglas Lovett and 19-year-old Aaron Lovett were struck, NBC 4 reported.
Douglas was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
Aaron was transported to OSU Medical Center Main and was listed in serious condition.
Smith allegedly fled the scene on foot and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
According to Columbus Police Sgt. Rich Weiner, SWAT teams were called to a home on East 13th Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. SWAT entered the home and arrested Smith without further incident.
A second suspect in connection with the shooting remains on the loose, police said.
