A man recently coughed up a nail that doctor's say has been lodged in his head for 30 years, KOAA reported.
Prax Sanchez, of Colorado Springs, was having dizzy spells. His doctor ordered an MRI, which is a magnetic image of the skull. Sanchez says during the MRI, he had severe pain under his right eye. That’s when doctor’s discovered he had metal in his skull.
About 15 minutes later, Sanchez coughed up and the nail came up through his throat. It seems the MRI jarred the nail loose.
Doctors say the nail would not have caused any harm if it hadn’t come out and that it has likely been in his head for over 30 years.
Prax says he has never worked in construction and has no idea where or how the nail got into his head, but he is glad to have it gone.
