Ohio State Reverses Facebook Banned Post Policy

»  Comments | Post a Comment

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State University says it will allow postings on its Facebook page that don't always paint the university in a positive light.

The university deleted postings last week by a graduate student who asked about OSU President Gordon Gee's service on the board of an energy company criticized by environmentalists.

After deleting the postings, Ohio State then blocked anyone from posting comments of any kind on the wall of the university's Facebook page.

The university reopened the wall Friday to all posts.

Ohio State spokesman Jim Lynch says the university may not have responded appropriately to the initial post and is now willing to take the bad with the good on the social networking site.
