TOLEDO, Ohio -- An Ohio prisons spokeswoman says four guards were stabbed by an inmate at the Toledo Correctional Institution. Andrea Carson with the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction says the four men were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not life threatening following Monday afternoon's incident. Three of the guards were released after treatment.
The male inmate was treated at the prison's hospital ward and was then put in isolation. Names have not been released. Carson declined to say how the stabbing occurred or to identify the weapon. She says prison administrators and the State Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate.
