COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Central Ohio Crime Stoppers hoped you have the tips "to catch a killer."
It's a story NBC 4 reported on back in 1980 and is bringing back into the public's eye with the help of Central Ohio Crime Stoppers and its To Catch A Killer monthly series.
This month's featured crime is the 1980 murder of 18-year-old Jackie Hord.
Hord left her Northeast Side home at 2097 Jermain Dr. on Sunday, Dec. 7, 1980 to visit a friend who lived nearby.
Hord never returned home.
Hord's body was found in an abandoned garage at the rear of 2106 Jermain Dr. on the afternoon of Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1980.
An investigation revealed she was sexually assaulted and bludgeoned to death inside the garage.
Crime Stoppers has posted a reward for as much as $5,000 for any information received leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the persons responsible for Hord's death.
