DAYTON, Ohio -- His Ohio school doesn't approve of Ryan Sapp's Web site, but it has won the university student some notice in his home state of Indiana.
In 2007, Sapp launched ISleptThroughClass.com, which now allows thousands of college students nationwide to share notes with others who miss classes. The site is nominated for one of this year's TechPoint Mira Awards honoring Indiana technology leaders and being announced on Friday.
Earlier, the Web site made the finals in a business plan competition at the University of Dayton, where Sapp is a junior. But he was disqualified from winning the more than $35,000 in prizes in January because officials said his site could encourage some students to cut class.
Sapp disagrees, calling his creation an "educational resource."
