COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A mother allegedly assaulted an officer after he arrested her teenage son.

Two CPD officers were patrolling close to 4 p.m. Sunday when they came across two teenagers allegedly smoking marijuana in a vehicle in front of 335 Mayfair Blvd.
That's on the city's East Side.
One of the teens had a loaded handgun hidden in his waistband, CPD said.
The officers began to take the teen into custody when his mother approached the scene
Officers said 40-year-old Theresa Dunn was belligerent and obstructed the arrest of her son.
She punched one of the officers in the face and resisted arrest when the officers tried to take her into custody, according to a CPD report.
The officer had a facial abrasion but did not require medical treatment.
Dunn was charged with assault, obstructing and resisting arrest.
