PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- Parents have expressed their concern about a so-called suspicious person, and the local police continued to respond.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Pickerington police received complaints of a suspicious person driving around in an area neighborhood.
Police said rumors and false information via texting and e-mails have caused the concern.
Officers investigated the alleged incidents in question.
Investigation revealed an elderly man, who lives in the same neighborhood, drives through the neighborhood two -- sometimes four -- times a day, police said.
This action is not against the law.
The information police received also included an alleged abduction attempt, which the department said it can't verify, and reports of the individual acting "strangely."
Police informed the individual in question about the complaints, alleged offenses and the rumors. Officers also told him PPD would continue to observe his patterns and behaviors.
The investigation did not result in information that the individual acted against the law or inappropriately, but the department said it will continue to monitor the situation.
Pickerington police asked those individuals who share information via text messaging, e-mails or other sources to be sure the truth is known before inducing panic in their own neighborhoods.
