COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Fire officials announced the arrest Tuesday of a tween fugitive suspected in connection with a series of arson fires on the city's south side.
Fire investigators arrested 12-year-old Ryan Parsley at his home on the south side at about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, NBC 4 reported.
Through the persuasion of his family, the fire department presence and the press he decided to turn himself in, according to CFD Battalion Chief David Whiting.
He was transported to the investigative unit Tuesday where he was questioned for any additional information concerning other fires in the south end. He was later transported to the juvenile detention center.
Parsley was on the run after escaping from the juvenile facility on Pierce Drive on March 21.
Jeremy Davis, 15, escaped from a group home April 5 after having been charged with criminal damaging in connection with the series of arsons. He turned himself in on April 11.
Ryan was charged for a fire at 94 E Innis Ave.
Parsley's father also has been charged.
