Pistachio Products Recalled In Ohio

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A company is recalling its raw pistachio kernels sold in Ohio and a few other states because of concerns the products may be contaminated with salmonella.

Indian Groceries & Spices says no injuries have been reported. Its recall covers Nirav brand raw pistachio kernels in 7-ounce and 14-ounce plastic bags and Setton brand raw pistachio kernels in bulk 25-pound boxes (with item 907 and batch no. 2458 through 3668 or 0019 through 0849).

The recalled items were sold from October through the end of March.

Supplier Setton Pistachio has temporarily shut down. Federal food safety officials say they found traces of salmonella bacteria in "critical areas" inside the company's California plant.
