LOGAN, Ohio -- A former Logan-Hocking School District employee is facing rape charges, accused of assaulting victims on his school bus.
Morgan Monroe is facing two charges of rape and five charges of gross sexual imposition, NBC 4's Marcus Thorpe reported.
According to officials, the alleged incidents occurred in his home and on school buses and do not involve students in the district, but rather relatives of Monroe.
District officials said Monroe listed that he had two children and five grandchildren in his district profile.
Monroe previously worked as a full-time bus driver for 15 years before he retired. After his retirement, he was then rehired as a substitute part-time bus driver and part-time janitor.
The district learned of the allegations against Monroe nine weeks ago and acted quickly to put him on do not hire list.
The suspect had no personnel problems within the district and he had no criminal history, Thorpe reported.
"(We conducted) FBI checks last year and two years ago. Every time (they) came back negative," said Logan-Hocking Schools Superintended Steve Stirn.
Monroe appeared in court on Wednesday and his bond was set at $50,000.
There was no answer at the home listed under Monroe's name.
In his personnel file, Monroe listed that he enjoyed working with staff and students of the district.
Monroe is currently in the Logan-Hocking County Jail.
