COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Faced with intense competition in the job market, more women are turning to cosmetic surgery to give them an edge.
According to a survey conducted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 73 percent of women say appearing youthful does play a role in getting hired.
Local cosmetic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Donaldson says more of his patients are getting cosmetic surgery to boost their chances of finding or even keeping a job.
His patient, Victoria Zamensky hopes Botox will giver her a more rejuvenated look to help her land a new job.
"The better you feel, the better you project yourself to other people -- especially when you're going into interviews and it's a stressful situation", Zamenksy says.
"Right now what we're seeing is a trend towards more non surgical options because they're generally more affordable and they're less invasive,” Donaldson says.
Botox will cost you several hundred dollars. You pay by the syringe. It can take up to 14 days for Botox to kick in.
The treatment lasts three to six months.
There are risks to any cosmetic procedure.
Donaldson says be sure to choose doctor who trained at plastic surgical residency
