COLUMBUS, Ohio -- CPD SWAT officers made a pair of arrests overnight Friday.
It was what happened before the bust, though, that was interesting.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS Friday.
SWAT was in a North Side neighborhood at about 12:30 a.m., and officers were preparing to make entry into a home on Cordell Avenue.
A car sped by and nearly crashed into a police cruiser before smashing into a pole at Hudson and Joyce avenues, authorities said.
One officer said it looked like the car was going close to 100 mph before the crash.
Police pulled the driver out of the car, but police said the passenger took off running.
Officers found the passenger hiding in a nearby trash can.
A small amount of drugs were found on the driver, police said.
Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody.
After that, SWAT made entry into the home on Cordell Avenue and arrested two male suspects on felonious assault charges.
The suspects were taken into custody without incident.
