SOUTHEAST OHIO -- The Ohio Seismic Network reports Gallipolis, near Portsmouth, experienced an earthquake Friday morning.
It was 3.4-magnitude earthquake.
It happened at 9:42 a.m. Friday, April 24.
The quake's epicenter was in Gallipolis but was felt 149 miles away in Athens and Portsmouth and in Jackson and Gallia counties.
Storm Team 4 meteorologist Ben Gelber reported that the quake is the strongest felt in southeast Ohio since 1980.
"We have frequent earthquakes in western Ohio and northeastern Ohio, but in southeast Ohio we have very few earthquakes," said Mike Hansen, of The Ohio Seismic Network.

Initial reports indicate there wasn't any damage or injuries.
The Ohio Seismic Network initially named the village of Oak Hill as the epicenter and later changed it to Gallipolis.
