State Offers Summer Jobs For People Ages 16-24

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- With high unemployment rates staring Ohio in the face, an opportunity for young Ohioans to gain summer employment is opening up.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has created the Recovery Conservation Corps. to put young Ohioans to work.

ODNR will work with Ohio Department of Job and Family Services along with the state's one-stop employment centers to employ Ohioans aged 16-24.

According to ODNR's director, Sean Logan, hundreds of people will work up to 752,000 man hours building nature trails, boardwalks, observation areas, and work to improve shorelines at Ohio lakes.

Job applications will be available at any one-stop employment center in the state, beginning Monday.
