Cincinnati Mom Sues City For Lead Paint Hazards

»  Comments | Post a Comment

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- A Cincinnati mother has filed a lawsuit claiming her son suffered from lead poisoning while living in the city's low-income housing units. Tabith Dornal filed the lawsuit in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court on behalf of her son, Elijah. The lawsuit says the boy was diagnosed in 2007 with lead contamination and now suffers from permanent damage to his brain and central nervous system.

The lawsuit accuses Cincinnati's health department and housing authority of failing to adequately inspect and clean up contaminated properties rented to low-income families. Dornal is seeking unspecified damages. City officials said Friday they would not comment because they had not seen the lawsuit.
