WILMINGTON, Ohio -- Officials in a struggling southwest Ohio town that's losing thousands of DHL shipping jobs are preparing to hand out tickets for next month's free comedy show by Jay Leno.
The NBC "Tonight" show host, who was briefly hospitalized last week, is scheduled to perform on May 10. Four thousand tickets will be available Monday.
Show organizer Jeff Bouchard says Leno decided to come to the city after seeing a "60 Minutes" report on the massive job losses at the DHL Air Park in Wilmington, which is about 30 miles southeast of Dayton.
About 8,000 workers were employed at the air park a year ago, and about 3,500 remain. Wilmington Mayor David Raizk says at least half of them will lose their jobs when DHL leaves this summer.
