COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A firefighters stops to help a woman whose car caught on fire Wednesday morning.
Aleasha Mitchell's car was puttering as she drove onto the East Main Street ramp from Interstate 270 northbound.
Smoke billowed from under her hood as sparks flew beneath the car.
Those sparks soon turned into flames.
A firefighter driving by on I-270 southbound came to Mitchell's aid.
He tried to put the fire out with an extinguisher.
A police cruiser and a fire truck arrived shortly thereafter. Firefighters put the fire out.
Mitchell says she's glad her son wasn't in the car. She tried to salvage what she could of her belongings.
