COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A driver crashed an allegedly stolen vehicle into a Columbus fire station Thursday afternoon.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
The situation began when Bexley police officers were following the van because they believed it was stolen, CPD said.
That was about 12:35 p.m. Thursday on the city’s East Side.
The driver first hit a post before crashing into a Columbus fire station at 1800 Livingston Avenue, CPD said.
Apparently, the driver got out of jail two days ago.
The driver quickly got out of the vehicle. So, police said they couldn’t place him behind the wheel or charge him with auto theft.
Bexley police were able to charge him with unauthorized use of property, though.
A second person might have been in the vehicle with the suspect.
No more immediate information was available.
