NELSONVILLE, Ohio
A Minnesota educator has accepted an offer from Hocking College to become the second president in the 41-year history of the southwest Ohio school.
Ron Erickson takes over the two-year public technical school in Nelsonville on July 1. He replaces 78-year-old John Light.
Light is retiring after being president since the college was founded in 1968.
The school's board announced Wednesday that Erickson had accepted the position. He now serves as vice president of academic affairs and institutional planning at Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, Minn.
State officials continue to investigate possible fraud and theft at Hocking.
Light has denied wrongdoing in using a fund he controls to pay for foreign travel for himself, his wife and trustees.
