COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Local authorities asked for the public’s help to solve a recent robbery in this week’s Crime Stoppers’ crime of the week.
NBC 4’s Mike Jackson reported on how your tip could mean a $2,000 reward.
An unknown male suspect entered the Family Dollar at 3577 E. Livingston Ave., at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 14.
The suspect approached the cashier, produced a silver revolver and demanded money from the cash register, authorities said.
The clerk gave the suspect an undetermined amount of cash, Crime Stoppers said.
The suspect fled on foot across East Livingston Avenue and into the Colonial Village Apartments.
The suspect was described as a black male who is about 25 to 35 years old He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.
He has a scraggly beard and was wearing a black, hooded jacket; blue jeans; white tennis shoes and sunglasses.
Crime Stoppers has posted a reward of as much as $2,000 for any information received by Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of the person(s) responsible for the crime.
