COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Whether it's a Ford or a Toyota, it's selling, and it's selling rapidly.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
"The lots are slim," General Manager Mike Smith said. Smith is the GM for Kreiger Ford at 1800 Morse Rd. on the city's North Side.
Ford Motor Company announced a U.S. sales gain Monday.
It was the first since 2007.
In about one week, Americans cashed in on the government's Cash for Clunkers program, nearly depleting the $1 billion set aside for the program.
The House voted to provide another $2 billion before leaving for summer break last Friday.
The Senate must also vote before its August vacation starts Friday.
President Barack Obama's chief spokesman said the popular rebate program may not survive beyond Friday if the Senate doesn't provide the $2 billion cash infusion.
Toyota Direct at 4248 Morse Rd. also has requested more inventory, as its lot grows slimmer by the day.
Its rear lot is half full of turned-in clunkers, and sales staff said they hope the lot soon will be full.
