STOW, Ohio -- In a growing memorial, about 50 people have gotten tattoos honoring a northeast Ohio Marine killed in Iraq three years ago.
Most have either a full "We will never forget Joseph A. Tomci" tattoo or a smaller version, like a red star and the initials for the corporal killed Aug. 2, 2006 in a roadside bombing.
Tomci, a graduate of Stow-Munroe Falls High School near Akron, was on his second tour of duty in Iraq when he was killed. He was 21.
An annual gathering of friends marking the third anniversary of his death was held Sunday.
