DUBLIN, Ohio -- A two-alarm fire evacuated residents and destroyed two town houses Wednesday morning.

Columbus fire was called out to 5869 Natureview Lane, off Sawmill Road, shortly at 6:04 a.m.
CFD said heavy fire was coming through the roof of a middle apartment of an eight-family unit when firefighters arrived. The battalion chief requested a 2nd alarm bringing the total number of firefighters on the scene to over 70.
The fire started in an attic of one building’s eight units and spread.
The battalion chief called for a second alarm moments after arriving on the scene, which brought the total number of involved firefighters to more than 70.
Upper Arlington fire also was called to the scene.
Smoke detectors operated and alerted residents in the adjacent apartments who were assisted in exiting by firefighters. Residents were evacuated from the two-story townhomes.
The fire was contained at about 7 a.m.
The estimated loss of the structure is $500,000, and all the units suffered damage, according to an official report.
The cause of the fire was ruled accidental. No one was injured.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist residents.
The Columbus Division of Fire was assisted by Upper Arlington and Washington Township fire departments.
