DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio -- Two people were killed and one was injured in a head-on crash on U.S. Route 42 Thursday morning.

U.S. Route 42 was closed south of County Home Road after a double-fatal crash happened at about 7 a.m.
Two vehicles crashed head-on and two people were killed, according to the Delaware post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
A third was sent by LifeFlight to Grant Medical Center, according to The Delaware Gazette.
Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed during accident investigation.
The route was reopened to traffic shortly before 11:30 a.m.
The names of the victims were not immediately released.
