COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A Columbus firefighter was injured at a late-night fire Thursday.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Columbus fire was called out to 490 E. Gates Dr. on the city’s South Side at about 11:40 p.m.
The fire started on the back porch and caused about $10,000 in damage, CFD said.
The fire caused a live electrical wire to snap while Columbus Firefighter Herman Tidwell was walking through the yard.
The wire came in contact with Tidwell as it fell to the ground, the on-scene battalion chief said.
He was transported to Grant Medical Center for evaluation and was later released.
There weren’t any additional injuries.
The cause of the fire was determined to be arson, according to CFD.
Columbus fire continued to investigate.
