COLUMBUS, Ohio -- For two months, state Route 315 drivers have been dodging road-construction crews and orange barrels and maneuvering around ramp closures.
NBC 4 got answers on whether ODOT is on track to complete Phase 1 on time.
The sea of orange on S.R. 315 hasn’t been as bad as some motorists have expected.
Sixty days into the 120-day project, everyone is hoping the construction is completed on time.
“I hope it's done soon, kind of doubt it ill be,” one motorist said.
ODOT officials said Phase 1 of the three-mile 315 project will be complete come October.
“We're on schedule. That's what's most important,” ODOT spokesperson Nancy Burton said. “I think it's actually gone better than people expected. We have not seen a sea of red lights or parked cars on 315.”
Crews will work on the southbound side of S.R. 315 during the summer of 2010.
Phase 2 was expected to take 90 days to complete.
