ELYRIA, Ohio -- A teenage robber smacked with a 5-quart Emeril Lagasse saucepan by his 70-year-old Ohio victim has been sentenced to juvenile detention for at least two years.

Judge Thomas Heydinger sentenced the 16-year-old on Wednesday to juvenile lockup until at least his 18th birthday. He could be held until he turns 21.

The boy, whose name was withheld, pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary, robbery and theft for the Feb. 24 incident at the home of Ellen Basinski in Elyria, 23 miles west of Cleveland.

Lagasse sent Basinski a set of his signature cookware to replace the pan, which was seized by police as evidence.
