Crash Kills Man, Pair of 12-Year-Olds

LAKEMORE, Ohio -- Ohio Highway Patrol investigators say a man and two boys were killed when their vehicle veered into the path of an oncoming van.

Troopers say they're trying to determine why 36-year-old Keith Caplinger of Akron lost control late Saturday night and crossed the center line on a road in southern Summit County. His car struck a van going in the other direction, and the crash killed Caplinger, his 12-year-old son, Luke, and another passenger, 12-year-old Ryland Reel of Akron. All were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 16-year-old driver of the van was taken to Akron Children's Hospital with minor injuries.
