SUNBURY, Ohio -- A 65-year-old man died in a four-vehicle crash on U.S. 36 near Interstate 71 in Delaware County Monday afternoon.
The crash occurred on U.S. 36 at the intersection of County Road 33, Carter's Corner Road near Sunbury at about 3:50 p.m.
Officials said Karl Roderer, of Sunbury, was traveling southbound on Carter's Corner Road when he ran the stop sign at U.S. 36 and was struck by a 1999 Kenworth dump truck, driven by 37-year-old George Newton, of Utica.
Roderer's vehicle traveled left of center after the impact and struck an eastbound trailer being pulled by a 1995 Chevrolet 2500, which was being driven by 24-year-old Matthew Heringer, of Sunbury.
Roderer's vehicle was then struck by an eastbound 1996 Chevrolet Blazer being driven by 58-year-old James Upp, of Delaware.
Roderer was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
There were no injuries to the other drivers.
S.R. 37 was closed in both directions one mile east of I-71. The road reopened shortly after 8:30 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
