5 Tigers Won't Be Evicted

»  Comments | Post a Comment

ASHLAND, Ohio -- Eviction is no longer a concern for five tigers and their caretakers who were being foreclosed on in Ohio.

Jose and Denise Flores say their bank has canceled this month's scheduled sheriff's auction of the couple's Tiger Paw Exotic Rescue Center outside Ashland in north-central Ohio.

Denise Flores says she and her husband are now working with the lender to lower their mortgage payments and are compiling information on their expenses. She says the chicken they feed the tigers costs more than $400 per month.

The couple fell behind on their mortgage after Jose Flores was laid off from a job several months ago.

News about their plight inspired donations of as much as $5,000, and one family had offered the Flores and their tigers a place to stay.
