DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio -- Authorities arrested one suspect in connection with a shooting center burglary early Sunday.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
David Wise Jr. was arrested early Sunday morning at 2685 Shelly Dr., Columbus.
Wise was charged with one count of breaking and entering in connection with the burglary at Black Wing Shooting Center in Ostrander.
The burglary happened between 12:30 and 3 a.m. Monday, August 17, authorities said.
Suspects removed multiple firearms, including hunting rifles, shotguns, assault weapons and tactical knives, and several rounds of ammunition, according to authorities.
The Delaware County sheriff’s office and Columbus SWAT executed a search warrant at 2555 Sullivant Ave., on the city’s West Side, Saturday, August 22.
Investigators recovered weapons from the Sullivant Avenue residence that were stolen from Black Wing Shooting Center, according to the Delaware County sheriff’s office.
No one connected with the residence was under arrest currently.
NBC 4 previously reported four people were taken into custody Saturday. None were arrested.
The office was not releasing the number or type of weapons recovered currently.
“Tips lead us to two addresses in Columbus. We acted on the information quickly and made significant progress in the case,” Sheriff Walter L. Davis III said. “There are still more stolen weapons out there. The sheriff's office takes all crimes seriously, but this office is especially challenged with this crime because it involves guns and knives. We are working around the clock to apprehend everyone responsible and recover the stolen weapons.”
Evidence found at the scene suggested the suspects parked a vehicle along state Route 37, in front of the business, during the burglary.
The vehicle might have appeared to be disabled.
Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, FOP Lodge 9 and Black Wing collectively offered a reward for as much as $5,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of the person or persons responsible.
