NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio -- A suspected Perry County puppy mill is attracting more criticism over puppies that were sold over the weekend.
They look like fun-loving puppies, but four Labrador mixes purchased over the weekend from the suspected puppy mill are full of infections and parasites.
At the Obetz Animal Hospital, veterinary technicians examined the dogs -- named Shiloh, Faith, Hope and Glory.
NBC 4 reported on the business in 2006. Since then, nothing much has changed, NBC 4's Mike Bowersock reported.
"We have statements, affidavits and records from people going back before 2004 and the scenarios are remarkably similar. People reported the same things and the same experiences throughout the whole time," said Attorney John Bell.
Tests will determine whether the dogs can be saved. They have skin rashes and thin but bloated stomachs could mean they have potentially fatal viruses.
"We've had some that didn't make it home. Many of them, as these four did yesterday, were sick during their ride from New Lexington to wherever they were going," Bell said.
There is a class action lawsuit against the suspected puppy mill and its owner.
