Union Sees Rush To Judge Officer Who Tasered Official's Daughter

»  Comments | Post a Comment

CINCINNATI -- A police union leader fears officials are jumping to conclusions about a Cincinnati officer's use of a stun gun in the arrest of a city councilman's daughter.

Chief Thomas Streicher took away Officer Anthony Plummer's police powers on Monday and said a review of video of the traffic stop early Sunday morning indicates unnecessary use of force.

But Kathy Harrell, president of the Fraternal Order of Police, says Plummer has not been interviewed yet to explain why he took the actions that he did.

Harrell says there may have been what she calls "a rush to judgment."

Police say Plummer used a stun gun on 26-year-old Celeste Thomas after she disobeyed commands to stay in the car. Her father is Councilman Cecil Thomas.
