CHARLESTON, W.Va.

A blackjack dealer at a West Virginia casino is accused of showing cards to players before they placed bets.

A criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Circuit Court says 25-year-old Derek Maple of Poca is charged with a racetrack game violation.

State Police were called to Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center in Nitro on Saturday.

The complaint says Maple was seen on videotape allegedly showing cards to players. One of the players, 40-year-old Thuhuong Nguyen of Mount Hope, also was charged with a racetrack game violation.

The felony charge carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine upon conviction.

Maple also was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Both suspects have been released on bond.
