PATASKALA, Ohio -- A 15-year-old male was arrested early Thursday for his alleged role in the shooting of a 17-year-old male.

Pataskala police was dispatched to the 1400 block of Galway Bend South at about 9:25 p.m. Wednesday on reports of a shooting.
Officers found a 17-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and another 17-year-old victim who was uninjured.
The victims said two males approached them while they were on the porch at the above location and demanded money.
When they didn’t comply, one of the suspects displayed a small, semi-automatic handgun and fired one round, striking one of them, the victims said.
The suspects fled on foot around back of the house and to the east. No vehicle was seen in the area.
The shooting victim was transported to Grant Medical Center.
Pataskala officers arrested a 15-year-old male for his alleged role in the shooting at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
He was turned over to juvenile court authorities.
PPD said robbery might have been the motive for the shooting.
Additional charges could be filed in the future, police said.
PPD continued to work to identify the second suspect.
