WHITEHALL, Ohio -- Whitehall police continue to investigate after a 19-year-old was struck and dragged by a vehicle early Thursday.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Whitehall police responded to the area of East Main Street and Collingwood Avenue at about 1:30 a.m.
Reports indicated an injured man was in the middle of East Main Street.
Officers found the victim in the road with multiple injuries.
Anthony B. Gillespie had been struck and dragged about a half of a mile, from Robinwood Avenue, police said.
Gillespie was transported to Grant Medical Center in nonlife-threatening condition.
Whitehall police was not calling the incident a hit-and-run currently.
WPD told NBC 4 there were many unanswered questions, including whether the incident was purposeful or accidental.
NBC 4 spoke to Gillespie’s father before noon. Anthony L. Gillespie said his son remains on a ventilator. He cannot talk, is in a lot of pain and has a lot of road rash.
Whitehall police don’t have any suspects currently.
