WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Police were able to arrest a robbery suspect quickly after the crime with the help of watchful citizens.

Westerville Police received a report of a robbery at CVS Pharmacy at 145 South State Street shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
Witnesses told police a male approached a pharmacist with a small handgun and requested OxyContin.
The suspect fled the store with an undetermined amount of generic Percocet, police said.
Officers received a detailed description of the suspect and the getaway vehicle.
After a search of the nearby area, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted, and police initiated a traffic stop.
John P. Vitullo, was arrested without incident and charged with aggravated robbery.
Vitullo was taken to the Franklin County Jail and was awaiting court proceedings.
