LANCASTER, Ohio -- A Central Ohio law enforcement motorcycle officer was ticketed for speeding while off duty -- and it's the second incident involving an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper this summer.
Motorcycle Trooper David Mills was clocked traveling 97 mph in a 60 mph zone on U.S. 33 near Lancaster, officials said.
Trooper Christopher Davis, who initiated the stop, did not cite Mills immediately.
Earlier this summer, a state trooper pulled over another trooper and Gahanna police officer for traveling nearly at speeds of approximately 150 mph along Interstate 70 near Buckeye Lake.
In that situation, the trooper didn't write the law enforcement officers tickets immediately -- which led to a state inspector general report.
"It's extremely disappointing when you see something like this occur and especially so closely to when the previous occurred," said Lt. Anthony Bradshaw.
There is no word on if there will be more disciplinary action taken against Mills.
