WASHINGTON -- More than 200,000 Frigidaire and Kenmore ranges have been recalled for fire hazards.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled about 200,000 select Frigidaire and Kenmore Elite smooth-top electric ranges.
The ranges were manufactured in the United States by Frigidaire, a division of Electrolux Home Products Inc. of Augusta, Ga.
The ranges were recalled because the heating elements are not properly controlled by the switches and settings.
The company has received 126 reports of incidents, including four reports of minor burns and two reports of minor property damage.
If you have one of the ranges, you it is suggested you stop using it immediately and call Frigidaire to schedule a free repair.
The ranges were sold by national chains, including Sears, and independent stores around the country between June 2001 and August 2009.
