HAMILTON, Ohio -- A grand jury has indicted a southwest Ohio woman on an aggravated murder charge in the death of her 5-week-old son, whose body was found last week in a trash can.
The indictment released Monday also charges 26-year-old Asuncion Avila-Villa with one count each of gross abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
The Butler County indictment accuses Avila-Villa of killing the child to hide evidence of unlawful sexual conduct.
Avila-Villa was arrested Aug. 25 after police found her baby's body in a garbage can in an alley behind her home. A coroner says the baby had a crushed skull and broken arm.
A judge was to appoint an attorney for Avila-Villa.
