COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Starting Wednesday, you can purchase and receive a H1N1 influenza vaccine at local Walmart stores.
Walmart and Mollen Immunization Clinics said Mollen health-care professionals will administer H1N1 flu shots in select stores in the Columbus area for $15 beginning Wednesday, Dec. 2.
Medicaid, Medicare, or private health plans may cover part or all of the cost of the immunization. Customers pay the lesser of the $15 or the co-pay as designated by their third-party payer.
Local Walmart stores currently offering the vaccine including Morse Road, Winchester Boulevard in Canal Winchester, West Pointe Plaza, Stringtown Road in Grove City, Georgesville Road and Taylor Road in Reynoldsburg. Those locations could change.
Current Targeted Groups for H1N1 Immunizations
- Pregnant women
- Children from 6 months - 18 years of age
- Young adults from 19 years - 24 years of age
- Persons aged 25 through 64 years who have chronic health conditions that are associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza
- Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than age 6 months
- Health-care workers who have direct patient contact
