Arson Ruling In Cleveland Fire That Killed 4

»  Comments | Post a Comment

CLEVELAND -- Authorities in Cleveland have determined a boarding house fire that killed four people was deliberately set.

Fire department spokesman Larry Gray said Tuesday that the arson ruling means the investigation of the Nov. 7 fire is now in the hands of homicide detectives.

Gray declined to say how or where the fire started in the boarding house on the city's west side.

Because of the transient nature of the home's residents, authorities had difficulty identifying the woman and three men who died and then tracking down their families. The daughter of one victim was notified just last week.

Five people escaped the flames.

Neighbors had described the boarding house as a nuisance and said they tried for years to get the owner to make improvements.
