Newark Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash

UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash after his vehicle struck a median and ended up on its top early Sunday.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Granville Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said 32-year-old Douglas Rookard Jr. was killed in a crash on Interstate 70 in Union Township at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Rookard was partially ejected from his van after it was driven off the left side of the roadway, struck the median and overturned.

Alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt were being considered as factors in the fatal crash.

The crash remained under investigation.
