COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Three people rescued a woman from her burning vehicle early Wednesday in southeast Columbus.
NBC 4 gives you the FAST FACTS.
The accident occurred just before 5 a.m. Wednesday on Lehman Road near Gender Road.
A vehicle drove off Lehman Road, struck a tree and caught fire.
According to police, three people ran to the crash scene and pulled a female driver from the burning vehicle.
If not for Bernard Bobo, a supervisor on his way to work at Rumpke, there’s a good chance she would have died.
Bobo was on Lehman Road, near Gender, when he saw the crashed car.
He and two other men -- all just regular guys on their way to work -- saw the crashed car and checked on the woman in the driver’s seat.
They noticed fire and smoke coming out of the dash and knew they had to get her out of the car right away.
"Smoke and stuff started coming out, and we saw flames. Myself and two others guys decided it was time to remove her from the vehicle" Bobo said.
They pulled her out as the car was catching on fire.
He already had called 911, so fire and rescue crews were on the way.
Does Bobo think he's a hero?
"The real heroes, to me, are your police officers, firefighters, doctors and nurses, I'm just a good Samaritan who was in the right place at the right time."
The woman was taken to Grant Medical Center by Columbus fire personnel.
Her condition was unknown, but police said it was not life-threatening.
