NEWARK, Ohio -- A person who made an offer of $1,125 dollars for a motorized bar stool last week turned out to have the winning price when the time for bidding ran out Sunday evening.
Twenty-nine-year-old Kile Wygle was charged with driving under the influence after he crashed the contraption in Newark in March. He pleaded guilty the following month and spent three days in jail.
During the legal proceedings related to the charge, Licking County's Child Support Agency put in a claim on the stool, saying Wygle owed $37,000 in back child support.
The eBay auction of the stool was the means to try to collect some of that money.
eBay showed the auction lasted until Sunday evening and that the winning bid was submitted last week.
Agency officials couldn't be reached for comment on how the stool will be delivered to the new owner.
As of late Sunday night, three other motorized bar stools, including a yellow one from a Cincinnati owner, remained for sale on eBay, with bids on one of them at $1,000.
