KENTON, Ohio -- The Division of State Fire Marshal offered a Blue Ribbon arson reward of as much as $5,000 to anyone with information leading to the identification of the person or persons responsible for the Tuesday, Dec. 8, fire in Kenton that claimed the life of 35-year-old Gary Wells Jr.

Investigators determined the fire on West Walnut Street was intentionally set.
Fire investigators continued to investigate the fire and asked anyone with information in the case to immediately contact Kenton police at 419-673-0771 or the Division of State Fire Marshal at 800-589-2728.
Investigators believe someone has information regarding the fire and asked they provide those details, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem.
A mother and stepson were injured in the fire. A firefighter also was injured while fighting the blaze. All three were treated and released.
Investigators conducted numerous interviews and are continuing to follow up on information provided through the investigation. Investigators also were working closely with the prosecutor’s office.
