COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Mayor Michael B. Coleman has advanced two jobs incentive plans to city council that will impact 150 jobs in Columbus.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS from the mayor's office.

The incentive plans would create 75 new jobs while retaining another 76.

“These 75 new jobs will help us continue our momentum and will have a ripple effect on the entire city,” Coleman said. “We will continue to fight for every new and existing job as we continue on the path of economic recovery.”

The mayor asked council to approve incentives for Teng & Associates Inc. to provide design and construction management services for the corporate, cultural, government, health-care, higher-education, homeland-security, military, transportation and public-safety markets.

The company is expanding its operation from Chicago and would create 25 new full-time positions.

Teng & Associates would qualify for the Downtown Incentive of an amount equal to 50 percent of the payroll taxes paid on the new positions for three years.

“By offering these incentives, and by bringing new jobs to Columbus, we are fulfilling a promise made to residents to continue to pursue economic development opportunities and grow our tax base over the long haul,” Councilmember Andrew J. Ginther said.

The mayor also asked council to consider legislation that would bring 50 new full-time jobs to Downtown and retain 76 in an expansion project by Engauge Communications.

Engauge is an advertising agency that offers advertising and promotion services such as print, radio and television, outdoor, direct response, sales promotion and display and merchandising service.

Engauge would qualify for the Columbus Downtown Office Incentive of an amount equal to 50 percent of the payroll taxes paid on new positions for four years.
