HOLLAND, Ohio - One student was struck and killed by a train and another was injured near their Ohio high school.
The Lucas County sheriff's department in Toledo says both were students at Springfield High School in Holland.
The sheriff's department says Wednesday morning's accident killed a boy and injured a 16-year-old girl who was taken to Toledo Hospital. Her condition wasn't disclosed.
The sheriff's department says the accident occurred near the high school about 7:10 a.m. The train line runs two blocks from the school.
School district spokeswoman Kristina White says classes had already started when the accident occurred. She says a crisis team is at the school and that grief counselors from other communities are helping students deal with what happened.
